Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Do not take losartan if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant while you are taking losartan, stop taking losartan and call your doctor immediately.
Losartan may cause death or serious injury to the fetus when taken in the last 6 months of pregnancy.
Losartan is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Losartan is also used to decrease the risk of stroke in people who have high blood pressure and a heart condition called left ventricular hypertrophy (enlargement of the walls of the left side of the heart).
